The Toronto Raptors are reported to have turned down a significant trade offer from the Golden State Warriors this offseason.
The 2022 NBA champions will go into the 2023/24 season with a bit of a different look, having traded Jordan Poole to the Washington Wizards for Chris Paul. The Warriors also sent Ryan Rollins to Washington and received a 2027 second-round pick and a 2030 protected first-round pick in exchange.
According to Tim Kawakami of The Athletic, the Warriors called the Raptors with a proposal that would have sent Poole to Canada in exchange for OG Anunoby but the Raptors weren’t interested.
It appears Golden State was bent on getting rid of Poole ahead of next season.
Yahoo Sports’ Jake Fischer has also reported that the Warriors had talks with the Boston Celtics before the latter fashioned a three-team deal with the Wizards and Memphis Grizzlies that saw them land Kristaps Porziņģis.
This Raptors offer is interesting because of the way it could have impacted Draymond Green. While Anonunoby isn’t the same type of player as Green, he is one of the most versatile defenders in the NBA and would have slotted in as a natural replacement.

He would also give them better shooting than Poole as he’s a career 37.5 percent shooter from three-point range while the guard has shot 33.9 percent from long range over the span of 266 games.
