The Toronto Raptors don’t have to like the fact that Kawhi Leonard is leaving them less than a month after leading the team to their first NBA title, but by now most of them have at least developed an acceptance of that sad news. And that includes Raps head coach Nick Nurse.
According to ESPN’s Nick Friedell, Nurse doesn’t blame Kawhi for wanting to go home. And when he received a text from Leonard informing him of his plans, Nurse wished the 2019 Finals MVP all the best and thanked him for everything he did for the team and the city.
Sounds like there are no hard feelings here.
