A Toronto Raptors rookie received what must have been the most unexpected introduction to a crowd of basketball fans when he took to the court on Wednesday night.
Former Kansas star Gradey Dick was introduced as “Mr. Big Dick Energy!” by the Toronto PA announcer ahead of their game against the Milwaukee Bucks at Scotiabank Arena.
Herbie Kuhn, who has been the Raptors’ PA man for nearly three decades, was calling the team’s starting lineup, which Dick was a part of for the first time, when he hit the player with an insane shoutout.
“Wearing number one, Mr. Big Dick energy!” Kuhn bellowed as the guard ran out to cheers.
A name like Dick is surely going to attract jokes and puns, and we can expect plenty of them throughout the season.
Meanwhile, Gradey is having a fantastic start to life in Toronto as he’s quickly become a fan favorite and has already made friends with Drake, appearing in one of Adonis’ music videos.
