Karl-Anthony Towns seems to have gained some significant fans after his recent stint with the New York Knicks. With the Knicks looking quite confident in their bid to secure a playoff this year, KAT is one of the biggest reasons. Recently, heaping praises on Anthony Towns is famous rapper Fat Joe.
Fat Joe recently appeared in an episode of ‘7PM in Brooklyn’ with Carmelo Anthony. Reflecting on the impact of KAT, the rapper termed him as the greatest offensive big man ever. “I don’t think I’ve seen a better offensive big man in my life than KAT… I’ve sat in the game and watch KAT do ten moves. You cannot know what he’s gonna give you. Hit them with the left, hit them with the right, spin on you this way, this way, that way. That’s impossible to guard. He’s dumb,” said Joe.

The rapper further compared Karl-Anthony Towns to the likes of Shaquille O’Neal and Hakeem Olajuwon. Now, while it is a thing of debate whether Joe is right, the current form of Anthony Towns is surely impressive. KAT has played 23 games so far and has averaged 24.9 points with 3.2 assists and 13.6 rebounds per game. Meanwhile, despite him making ripples for the Knicks, Anthony Towns has a separate space for the Timberwolves in his heart. KAT opened up about his dream of retiring with the Minnesota Timberwolves earlier this year.
Karl-Anthony Towns’ Timberwolves Dream
The 29-year-old was initially drafted by the Minnesota Timberwolves back in 2015. Since then, it has been a nine-year joyride for KAT. Notching up four All-Star appearances, Anthony Towns was quite impressive for the Wolves. Unfortunately, the situation has downgraded drastically in recent times, resulting in KAT getting traded to the New York Knicks. But despite cutting the ties, KAT still believes that he would play his last match donning a Timberwolves jersey.
“I thought I was gonna retire there. I thought it was gonna be the place I called home for my whole career,” said KAT in an appearance on the ‘Roommates Show.’ Thus, with things seemingly looking bright for Karl-Anthony Towns, it remains to be seen what lies ahead for the NBA superstar.
