NBA fanbase they serve as an important factor due to their support and loyalty for their respective franchises. However, some of them may cross the line at times due to several factors surrounding their beloved NBA team. Whether it’s the lack of support, fans heckling players and voicing their concerns, the game would not be as colorful without the people watching the games.
In today’s list, we will be ranking the most annoying NBA fanbase of all time from WORST To FIRST.
NBA fanbase… There are the good ones and the ones everyone hates
30. Detroit Pistons
When it comes to the worst NBA fanbase, the Pistons take the cake. The team may perform well on the court but the attendance would still suffer. Plus, the 2004 incident with Ron Artest will forever live in infamy.
29. Atlanta Hawks
The Hawks NBA fanbase are known to brush off their team despite the accomplishments they made on the court. The support just ain’t there and that’s why star free agents are crossing the Hawks on their list on a yearly basis.
28. Charlotte Hornets

Who could blame Hornets fans if they aren’t much into it for the team? Constant losing will do that to a fanbase. It’s a shame that a great basketball state doesn’t have a good NBA team to boast about.
27. Memphis Grizzlies
The Grizz NBA fanbase get a bad rep due to their inability to support their team even when they are winning on the court. They also have the tendency to turn against their own or former players(sorry Dillon Brooks) whenever they are performing poorly on any given night.
26. Minnesota Timberwolves
While the Wolves are currently thriving, we just can’t simply eradicate in our minds that their arena was always half empty just a few years ago. And oh…they need a new owner too in order for KG to finally have his number retired.
25. Washington Wizards
We may sometimes forget that the Wizards exist due to their incompetence. That’s probably why their fanbase hasn’t supported the team as much in recent years. They are simply annoyed by their team’s lackluster performance on the floor.
24. Phoenix Suns
Suns fans are a rowdy bunch, especially if the team is winning. They tend to boast too, despite there’s nothing to be proud of as the team hasn’t won a single title throughout their history. Years of false hope certainly made them that way.
23. New Orleans Pelicans
Often treated as the lesser sibling of the NFL’s New Orleans Saints, it’s no wonder why their fans consistently overlook the Pelicans, especially in the regular season. They aren’t bad but they aren’t good either.
22. Brooklyn Nets
Brooklyn doesn’t have a solid NBA fanbase in New York. The city will always be the home of the Knicks and fans of the Nets will always be viewed as bandwagoners.
21. Indiana Pacers
For a proud basketball state like Indiana, their fans are always expecting their beloved Pacers to perform better on the court. Sadly, their team hasn’t won a title yet that’s why the support isn’t as solid as others.
20. Orlando Magic
Years of losing and coming up short really took a toll on Magic fans in recent years. Even though the team is currently performing well on the court, their fans often look the other way as they know this is all temporary. O’Neal and Howard leaving the team ages ago really made them a skeptical bunch.

19. Philadelphia 76ers
Sixers fans are a loud bunch. They are brutally honest when the team is struggling, often skipping the games and dismissing the team whenever they get the chance. But they could also be the total opposite when the Sixers are winning.
18. Oklahoma City Thunder
You would think that with OKC winning a lot, their fans would go all out to support this young team. On the contrary, the team continues to rank at the bottom of the league’s attendance despite their recent success. If only they kept the team in Seattle…
17. Houston Rockets
After James Harden’s departure, their fanbase inevitably headed towards the exit and completely forgot about the team. One look at their home games and you can easily spot empty seats all around their home arena.
16. Los Angeles Clippers
A couple of decades ago, Clips fans would probably be at the bottom of this list but the same can’t be said today. Kudos to the Clippers and Steve Ballmer for slowly building the foundation for a loyal fanbase around the team. Still, they need more fans, not just Billy Crystal on the sideline.
15. Cleveland Cavaliers
When LeBron left the Cavs the second time around in 2018, their fanbase lost a little bit of interest in the team. LBJ is a once-in-a-lifetime player and there’s nobody in a Cavs uniform who currently has the potential to become one. But with recent success, they are back to support them again, which includes the Kelce brothers.
14. Milwaukee Bucks
Even with Giannis steering the Bucks to a championship in 2021 and into contender status in recent years, it seems like their fans are still skeptical about the team for some unknown reasons. Would adding another title change their perception and eliminate their doubts?
13. Utah Jazz
The Jazz’s fanbase has been somewhat solid despite the team’s deficiencies on the court in recent years. They are still a hopeful bunch and that’s usually a good sign for the team going forward.
12. San Antonio Spurs
With Duncan, Ginobili and Parker gone, it’s quite understandable why Spurs fans opted to skip some games during their recent rebuilding phase. But the buzz is back due to Victor Wembanyama’s arrival this season.
11. Portland Trail Blazers
With Damian Lillard gone, it’s still surprising to witness that Blazers fans fully embraced the team’s rebuilding phase despite all the losses on the court. They are a loyal bunch and they just want to support their young players.
10. Sacramento Kings
Due to the Kings’ recent success, the buzz in Sacramento is back. Fans are cheering loudly during home games and some super loyal ones are even popping up during road games.

9. Toronto Raptors
Winning a championship in 2019 really has done wonders for the fanbase of the Raptors. Even though the team has struggled in recent years, their fans have continued to support them.
8. Miami Heat
The Heat always have a passionate fan base whether the team is good or not. The diversity is evident during their home games and the community is solid due to the success the team had before.
7. New York Knicks
Love them or hate them, it’s clear as day that Knicks fans will always support their team through good times and bad times. If you are from New York, it’s already built in your DNA to cheer for the Knicks whenever you get the chance.
6. Golden State Warriors
Due to the Dubs’ dynasty, it’s not a surprise that their fan base quickly rose to the upper ranks in the NBA. There is a lot to cheer for if you are a Warriors fan, especially when Steph Curry hits a deep three-pointer on the court.
5. Denver Nuggets
With the Nuggets winning a lot since Nikola Jokic’s ascend to the top, so has their fan base. They have supported the team despite battling bad winters. They were there despite previous disappointments in the playoffs. It’s truly amazing to see what winning can do to an NBA franchise that was once viewed as an afterthought.
4. Boston Celtics
The Celtics are a proud franchise and their fan base is also the same. If a player is struggling, they won’t hesitate to call him up and support him to perform better on the court. They are also quite the loyal bunch.
3. Dallas Mavericks
Through thick and thin, Mavs fans have always supported their team like crazy and are one of the best NBA fanbase. Especially with the arrival of Luka Doncic in 2018, their support just went up a notch. Even on social media, they’d let their voices be heard. You can also add an entire country (Slovenia, Luka’s home country) to their ever-growing fanbase.
2. Los Angeles Lakers
The Lakers fans are not limited to just their home games, they are virtually everywhere around the globe. They may not be as loud as other fanbases, but they are loyal and solid with their support. There are also a bunch of celebrities who have expressed their fandom for the franchise, which is usually a good look for the team.
1. Chicago Bulls
Michael Jordan’s run with the Bulls in the 1990s will forever be etched in the DNA of Bulls fans. As a result, despite MJ being retired for more than a couple of decades, the support they get from their fans never waned. Some even say that attending a Bulls game feels like one of the best highlights in their lives.
