Throughout the history of the NBA, there are quite a handful of NBA teams who haven’t sniffed at the grandest stage of the league, which is the NBA Finals. Getting there is such a hard task that it takes a lot of things to align in order for an NBA team to possibly get a closer chance to win an NBA championship trophy.
While some teams are inching closer to their goal, a lot of them will probably take forever to get their hands on that ever-elusive Larry O’Brien trophy.
In today’s list, we will be predicting when all 30 NBA teams will win their next championship.
How soon will your favorite NBA team win the championship?
Atlanta Hawks – 2050
With Trae Young’s trade availability looming in the upcoming offseason, losing another star seems like an ongoing theme for the Hawks. If this curse goes on, Hawks fans should brace themselves until 2050 for their NBA team to win a title.
Boston Celtics – 2026
Could the Celtics duo of Tatum and Brown lead them to a title this season? Probably but we all highly doubt it. But don’t worry Boston fans as they will inevitably win an NBA championship soon, especially during the peak years of their young stars.

Brooklyn Nets – 2034
This is a modest prediction for this NBA team as they’ve failed to garner much success in the past despite having multiple stars on the roster. However, their owner has shown a willingness to spend. That’s why it’s not too far-fetched to predict they’ll win it all in 2033.
Charlotte Hornets – 2055
There’s a little bit of hope for the Hornets because of the new owner in town but if we’re being honest with it, their incompetence will continue to linger on. LaMelo will probably retire without an NBA championship and this team will be in for a long hibernation.
Chicago Bulls – 2031
A future NBA draft prospect will arguably lead this NBA team back to the promised land in 2031. The Bulls are a symbolic franchise and as fate would have it, they’ll get another star in the very near future.

Cleveland Cavaliers – 2049
While 2016 was bittersweet, Cavs fans will need to wait another 33 years for their next NBA championship. They got lucky with LeBron but landing another star through the draft will be hard to replicate for the Cavs.
Dallas Mavericks – 2025
This is a bold prediction but when you think about it but there’s no doubt that it’s certainly a possibility due to having one of the best players in the entire world in Luka Doncic. This NBA team will rule the league soon and we’re just in it for the ride.
Denver Nuggets – 2024
If everybody’s healthy, there’s no doubt that the Nuggets can realistically make another finals run and win back-to-back titles this season. Jokic is still in his prime years and NBA teams are having a hard time stopping the Serbian big man from winning another NBA championship.
Detroit Pistons – 2035
This may be a bit too soon for the often cellar-dwelling Pistons, but we can’t deny that they are bound for another magical run somewhere in the mid-2030s, like what they did ago in 2004.
Golden State Warriors – 2044
Enjoy it while you can, Dubs fans as it would take another 20 years for this team to be relevant again after the trio of Steph, Klay and Draymond retires from the game a few years from now.

Houston Rockets – 2033
This might be off by a mile but if Alperen Sengun develops into a Jokic-like big man during his prime years, then the Rockets fans are in for a treat in 2034 as their NBA team is poised to win a title exactly 40 years after Olajuwon brought them to the promised land.
Indiana Pacers – 2036
We generally don’t think that Haliburton could lead this team to a title any time soon. The Pacers are certainly due for a championship but it could only be achievable if they could draft a young stud somewhere in the latter part of the 2020s.
Los Angeles Clippers – 2030
Can the trio of Leonard, George and Harden lead this team to a championship within a year or two? We certainly don’t believe so as this NBA team will inevitably falter again in the playoffs one way or the other. 2030 is a possibility due to the fact their owner is willing to overspend just to bring a title for this franchise.
Los Angeles Lakers – 2034
It’s hard to predict a year for this team as they will inevitably draw some superstars via free agency. However, due to their future picks getting traded to construct their current team, it will take another 10 years for this NBA team to win another title. LeBron will surely get another chance to hoist the Larry O’Brien championship trophy if he plays until he’s 50.
Memphis Grizzlies – 2045
With Ja Morant’s off-the-court issues lingering, it’s quite safe to say that once this team blows up, it will take a long while for them to recover again. A 2045 title should be attainable for them.
Miami Heat – 2028
As long as Pat Riley and Erik Spoelstra are still around, it is hard to fathom Miami’s title drought to linger much longer. 2028 might be too soon, but it’s hard to imagine that Jimmy Butler will retire without a title under his name.
Milwaukee Bucks – 2027
Giannis will definitely add another title to his resume but Bucks fans should wait another three years for that to happen. This NBA team’s roster is getting old and they’d need a few more years to get some upgrade in order to reach the top again.
Minnesota Timberwolves – 2029
Even with the unprecedented rise of Minnesota this season, it will take a Herculean effort for Anthony Edwards in his prime to steer this Wolves team to a title in 2029.
New Orleans Pelicans – 2047
Hate to break it to the Pels fans but Zion and Ingram will probably need to change teams in the future as they won’t ever sniff an NBA Finals if they stay in New Orleans throughout their careers.
New York Knicks – 2040
While Jalen Brunson is one hell of a player, it’s hard to imagine that he has what it takes to lead this team to a championship soon. If they’d draft better then 2040 has a nice ring to it for the Knicks.
Oklahoma City Thunder – 2038
Why 2038 when it could be now? Well, due to OKC’s previous track record, their management will inevitably break up their young core(again) due to a miscalculation of talents. That’s a fact for this franchise.
Orlando Magic – 2048
While Banchero and Wagner are nice young players, none of the two are tier-one superstars. Sadly for Magic fans, they will suffer a couple of more decades before their dream of winning a title materializes.
Philadelphia 76ers – 2037
Cover your eyes, Sixers fans as Joel Embiid might retire ringless when it is all said and done. Maybe they’d get their chance in the latter part of the 2030s, long after Embiid and Maxey’s reign with the team.
Phoenix Suns – 2042
There are no shortcuts for an NBA championship and the Suns should know better. The trio of Booker, Beal and Durant will enjoy some postseason success but winning a title would be a pipedream nonetheless for this NBA team. 2042 seems just about right for the Suns to win one NBA championship.
Portland Trail Blazers – 2051
If we look at the Blazers’ history, they will continue to be a strong regular-season performer who will always fall short in the playoffs. Plus, they are somewhat cursed when it comes to possible franchise-altering players.
Sacramento Kings – 2046
When it comes to evaluating talent through the NBA draft, the Kings are arguably near the bottom of the list. That’s why 2046 is such a modest prediction for this NBA team. Perhaps they could pull a miracle sooner than that? We highly doubt it.
San Antonio Spurs – 2032
If all goes well for Victor Wembanyama, 2032 would be too long before he can finally taste his first championship. He could probably do it in the latter part of the 2020s if he develops into an MVP-caliber player by then.
Toronto Raptors – 2039
While their current crop of NBA players won’t sniff an NBA Finals appearance any time soon, let’s just say that it will take another 20 years for Canada to celebrate another NBA title.
Utah Jazz – 2052
Since Utah is not a prime destination for free agents, this NBA team will probably need all the luck they can get in order for them to win an NBA title in 2052. You still have nearly three decades to go to get it right, Utah Jazz.
Washington Wizards – 2060
We’re tempted to say ‘never’ but that would be rude. Let’s just hope that by 2060 onwards, the Wizards will finally figure out how to build a championship-caliber team.
