Gregg Popovich truly believes that Colin Kaepernick will one day be celebrated for the actions he has taken and will take going forward.
The San Antonio Spurs head coach believes people will one day view Kaepernick the way they view Muhammad Ali, according to Marc J. Spears of ESPN. Pop also compared the former San Francisco 49ers quarterback to the likes of Tommie Smith and John Carlos, the two African-American track athletes who raised their fists in protest during the 1968 Olympics.
Kaepernick has not played in the NFL after taking a knee during the National Anthem on several occasions in 2016, to which he explained was to bring attention racial inequality and social injustices done towards minorities in the Unites States.
The 31-year-old Kaepernick filed a grievance against the league, alleging that NFL owners were colluding to keep him out of the league because of his stance.
