On May 13, an Instagram video (posted by one of his friends) allegedly showed Morant flashing a gun during a car ride. The Grizzlies subsequently suspended Morant from all team activities.
This incident came two months after Morant landed in hot water for posting an Instagram video of himself flashing a gun at a Denver, Colorado nightclub. Morant didn’t face any charges but was handed an eight-game suspension by the league.
Morant then entered counseling for stress management following the incident.
In 61 games for the Grizzlies this season, Morant averaged 26.2 points, 5.9 rebounds and 8.1 assists per game. The Grizzlies were eliminated by the Los Angeles Lakers in the opening round of the playoffs.
