Devin Booker is on the verge of becoming the Phoenix Suns’ all-time leading scorer, closing in on Walter Davis’ franchise record of 15,666 points. Booker, drafted by Phoenix in 2015, has averaged 24.4 points per game, with a 46.3% field goal percentage and an 87.2% free throw percentage throughout his career.
The 28-year-old guard recently reached the 15,000-point milestone, becoming just the second player in franchise history to do so. He passed Alvan Adams (13,910 points) for second place on February 14, 2024. As of January 30, 2025, Booker has accumulated 15,576 career points, needing just 91 more points to surpass Davis and take the top spot in Suns history.
Booker’s ability to score efficiently across multiple seasons has placed him in elite company. He has recorded 200 career games with 30+ points. In the 2024-25 season, he is averaging 25.5 points, 6.7 assists, and 4.0 rebounds per game while shooting 44.4% from the field and 34.1% from three.
Booker has knocked down more threes than anyone in Suns history (1,350 made on 3,793 attempts), which says a lot about his scoring ability. But he’s also missed the most shots (6,297 and counting). It just comes with the territory when you’re the one carrying the offense for nearly a decade.
Comparing Devin Booker To Walter Davis And Other Suns Legends
Walter Davis, the current all-time leading scorer for the Suns, played 766 games for the franchise between 1977 and 1988, averaging 20.5 points per game with a 52.0% field goal percentage. Despite playing fewer games (639) than Davis, Booker has already surpassed him in total three-pointers (1,350 vs. 115) and assists (3,267 vs. 3,340). Booker is also on pace to surpass Davis in total free throws made, currently sitting at 3,348, just 209 short of Davis’ 3,557 career free throws with Phoenix.
Other notable Suns legends include Alvan Adams, who ranks third in franchise history with 13,910 points, and Shawn Marion, known for his all-around contributions. Booker, however, is the only active Suns player in the top 10 in career points, and his record-breaking moment is imminent.
