Kevin Durant has already established himself as one of the greatest talents in NBA history, earning accolades from both current and former stars for his exceptional basketball skills. After leading the Golden State Warriors to back-to-back NBA titles in 2018 and 2019, Durant also made headlines for winning a record-breaking four Olympic gold medals.
Despite these achievements, he feels that the media hasn’t given him the recognition he deserves. Recently, a video went viral on Instagram, where reporters asked Klay Thompson and Anthony Edwards about the superstars they’ve played with. Nevertheless, surprisingly, they didn’t mention Durant.
“Media be trying their hardest to erase/disrespect Kevin Durant… Tried it with Ant and now Klay; both shut it down immediately,” the caption of the video read.
Durant himself caught wind of this and shared his thoughts on the matter. The Phoenix Suns star responded to the video with humor, showing he’s aware of the media narrative around him.
“They can’t erase what we’ve done, Klay lmao. Media members will rejoice when I retire,” Durant’s comment read.

“They’ve both been focused on getting a deal done in the two-year range, not that one-year extension. Kevin Durant has expressed publicly and privately how much he loves Phoenix. The Suns obviously want this iteration of the team to work, and they’re all in on this season, just like Kevin Durant is,” Charania said.
Durant is under contract until the 2025–26 season. If the Suns don’t offer him a one-year deal by Monday, he will have the opportunity to sign a two-year extension worth around $120 million next summer.
