Grayson Allen of the Phoenix Suns took just a half to reach the milestone in Thursday’s 120-113 victory over the Toronto Raptors at Footprint Centre. No player in the team has made as many 3-pointers in a two-game span as Allen.
For the second straight game, Allen made eight three-pointers, leading the Suns (36–26) with a career-high 26 points in the first half. Bradley Beal contributed twenty points, while Kevin Durant ended with 35 for the game. Phoenix made 15 of 35 triples in the game’s final minutes.
In the first quarter, Allen hit seven of his eight three-pointers to score twenty-one points, setting a new franchise record for most three-pointers made in a quarter. Allen finished the quarter with seven consecutive makes despite missing his opening attempt.
He fell two 3-pointers shy of the NBA record established by Golden State Warriors Klay Thompson in 2015 for the most 3-pointers made in a quarter.

Grayson Allen is guaranteed 3 points in a lineup
The 28-year-old had two chances to break the record before the half after making his tenth 3-pointer in the second quarter. For one half, eight triples tied a Suns record.
Slightly short of shattering the franchise record for a single game, he ended up going 8 for 14 from long range.
In just his first season with the team, Allen has already twice surpassed the franchise record with nine 3-pointers, the most recent of which came on January 16 against the Sacramento Kings. He is the first player in franchise history to have made nine threes in multiple games.
Allen leads the NBA with 47.1% as of Thursday, shooting better than any player in the competition.
The Suns will play four of their next five games against the top teams in the Eastern Conference, looking to extend their winning streak to two games. On Saturday, they will play host to the Boston Celtics before traveling to play the Milwaukee Bucks, Cleveland Cavaliers, Charlotte Hornets, and Celtics.
