Tuesday night in Los Angeles — the Lakers pretty much had the game in hand against the Chicago Bulls in the 4th quarter, but there was still one more thing to accomplish: win the fans free tacos.
Lakers fans were visibly and audibly upset during their team’s seven-point win, because the bench players for Chicago were purposely trying to deny the fans at a chance at free tacos.
The Lakers have a long-running promotion going on with Jack In The Box that if they win at home and hold their opponent below 100 points, everybody at Staples Center gets a coupon for two free tacos.
The Bulls had just 83 points with 2:19 left in the game, but then they started to make a huge push and had 98 points with just 35 seconds to go. The players were determined to upset the crowd.
One fan can be heard yelling, “It’s really messed up you’re trying to stop us from getting tacos!”:

This might be the most pettiest thing a team has ever done and I love it.
