Pelicans Have Sold An Insane Amount of Season Tickets Since Landing No. 1 Pick in NBA Draft Lottery

The New Orleans Pelicans franchise is on top of the NBA.

The Pelicans earned the No. 1 pick and, presumably, the right to draft Duke phenom Zion Williamson first overall when June comes around.

This is what happened in the minutes after the announcement of the Pelicans getting the #1 pick:

In the 24 hours since Pelicans fans got super excited about seeing Zion Williamson in a Pelicans jersey, the team has sold over 3,000 new season-tickets since winning the Draft Lottery.

Per the New Orleans Pelicans:

The franchise sold 2,500 season tickets overnight and this morning.

The Pels say that’s twice as much as they sold when they secured the No. 1 pick in 2012 to select Anthony Davis.

The 6’7”, 285 pound phenom helped Duke to the Elite Eight in his first and only college season as he dazzled crowds with his athleticism wherever he went.
