When Anthony Davis makes his eventual departure from the New Orleans Pelicans, it likely won’t be to where he wants to go.
The New Orleans Pelicans reportedly have “no interest in acquiescing Anthony Davis to the Lakers right now,” according to Adrian Wojnarowski.
On top of that news, Pelicans GM Dell Demps was said to not be picking up his phone for anybody in the league in regards to Davis. That wasn’t entirely true, because it seems it’s just for one particular team.
Adrian Wojnarowski and Zach Lowe of ESPN:
Pelicans general manager Dell Demps has yet to return a call to Lakers GM Rob Pelinka, league sources told ESPN.
Demps is picking up his phone and returning calls — just not from the Lakers, sources said.
The Pelicans are said to be in no rush to move Davis, so they could very well wait until the offseason or even during the 2019-2020 season to pull the trigger and maximize the amount of assets they can receive for losing such a dynamic player.
