Bronny James’ chances of selecting in the Los Angeles Lakers increased after the recent announcement. According to recent reports from NBA analyst and ESPN insider Adrian Wojnarowski, the New Orleans Pelicans have officially informed the Lakers and the league office that they will send the 17th pick in the 2024 NBA Draft to the Los Angeles Lakers. In exchange, the Pelicans will receive the Lakers’ first-round pick in the 2025 draft.
“Pelicans have now filed official notice with the Lakers and league office that the 17th pick in the 2024 NBA Draft goes to LA, sources tell ESPN. Pelicans will take the Lakers first-round pick in 2025.” Wojnarowski wrote in his recent post on X (formerly known as Twitter).

The news has generated excitement among fans and sparked rumors about Bronny James’ potential selection in the draft. Some fans believe that the Lakers may pick the 19-year-old player.
One fan mentioned, “Whether they will draft Bronny remains to be seen, but the Pels must think the Lakers will be bad this upcoming season.”

A third fan commented, “We have a chance to get a pretty decent player. Bronny doesn’t have to be selected at 17; they can do that at the 50th pick in the draft.” Meanwhile, an excited Bronny James fan wrote, “Bronny James to Lakers confirmed.”
The big question is where Bronny will end up in the draft. Many NBA analysts have been speculating which team will pick up the 19-year-old star. Recently, Shams Charania of The Athletic reported that James has been invited to work out with ten teams, but he won’t be able to visit all of them. He plans to work out with only two teams; the Los Angeles Lakers and the Phoenix Suns.
The first draft round will take place on June 26, 2024, at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. The second round will occur on June 27, 2024, at ESPN’s Seaport District Studios in Manhattan.
