Former NBA star Paul Pierce recently discussed the video that got him kicked off ESPN with Lance Armstrong.
Pierce, a champion with the Boston Celtics in 2008, moved to The Worldwide Leader in Sports after earning over $195 million as a professional basketball player. But it did not take him long to lose the gig after he shot himself in the foot by sharing a video of himself enjoying the company of women of questionable morals at a private poker game in 2021.
Speaking to the former champion cycler on the Star on Mars series, Pierce, told Armstrong that he wasn’t doing anything illegal but ended up at the center of a firestorm.
“It was a big whole controversy,” he explained. “I mean it wasn’t nothing illegal, but it was just girls … girls shaking their A.”
Surprisingly enough, Armstrong had never heard about the video and asked Paul how it got out. The former Finals MVP was forced to admit he was the one who posted it online.
Paul has defended his actions before, claiming he “didn’t do anything illegal,” in an interview with Sports Illustrated after his dismissal.

“These mother Fs in the Hall of Fame, some did [cocaine], F battery. What the F did I do? I was just having a good time,” he added. “All the people coming after me, half you mother Fs do the same S. You’re just hiding it. And you all are married while you’re doing it. I’m divorced. I’m retired. I’m having fun.”
Everyone gets that Pierce did not break any laws. But he doesn’t seem to understand that people are subject to discipline if they opt to work for a company and don’t carry themselves a certain way, at least in public.
