The Milwaukee Bucks have gotten off to a disappointing start this season. After suffering a recent 116-94 defeat against the New York Knicks, their record now stands at 2-7. These losses have led to increased trade speculation regarding their superstar, Giannis Antetokounmpo. A former NBA champion recently suggested a trade idea involving the Greek Freak that would “break the league.”
During a recent appearance on the KG Certified podcast, Boston Celtics legend Paul Pierce proposed the Oklahoma City Thunder would be the ideal team for the two-time NBA MVP. “This will break the league if this trade happens. If you can find a way to get Giannis to OKC, you know why, and this is why I say that they got all the draft picks,” Pierce said.
“They got young talent that you can trade for him. Like nobody can give you the asset that OKC can get you. You know what I’m saying? They gonna get the Clippers pick this year they got about like 25 first-round picks,” he added.
As one of the league’s top stars, Giannis’s future in Milwaukee has become a hot topic. If Pierce’s suggestion becomes a reality, Antetokounmpo could team up with star player Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. This partnership would form a formidable duo that could lead the Thunder to a championship.
Giannis Antetokounmpo Expresses Frustration Over Team’s Effort
Giannis Antetokounmpo was visibly upset with the disappointing start to the 2024-25 NBA season. After the recent loss to the Knicks, the Greek Freak criticized his team for not competing effectively. Antetokounmpo noted that while the team had performed well in the previous two games, they let themselves down against the Knicks.
“Did we compete the previous game? Yes. Did we compete the two previous games, Cavs and Cavs? Yes. Did we compete today? No. … If you don’t compete your a*s off, you’re not going to win the game.” Antetokounmpo said.
