Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant has been the face of controversy over the past few weeks and it showed no signs of slowing down as the Grizzlies had to finally take action against him.
The 23-year-old All-Star brandished a firearm live on Instagram while at what appeared to be a nightclub. This came after the Grizzles fell to the Denver Nuggets on Friday. That moment earned him a two-game suspension from the Grizzlies and forced an apology from Morant.
What makes things even worse is that his actions were justified by former Boston Celtics star Paul Pierce.
“I don’t care what y’all say about Ja I carried a gun after I was stabbed y’all don’t know what he going thru everyone got something to say until u really know what’s really going on in someone life when u black and rich u a target period”
Back in 2000, Pierce was stabbed 11 times after an incident in a Boston nightclub. The Celtics star needed lung surgery to repair the damage that was done.
Morant is not out here protecting himself from anything except social media calling him out for trying to be a gangster after he got rich.

Morant could face further punishment if the league’s investigation finds wrongdoing.
