Anthony Davis has been a cornerstone of the Los Angeles Lakers since joining the team in 2019. Davis made an immediate impact after the Lakers acquired him from the New Orleans Pelicans in a blockbuster trade involving Lonzo Ball, Brandon Ingram, Josh Hart, and multiple draft picks. He helped lead the Lakers to an NBA title in 2020, his first championship.
However, the Lakers have struggled to replicate that success, failing to win another championship since. NBA legend Paul Pierce believes it’s time for a major change.
Speaking on the KG Certified podcast, the Boston Celtics legend suggested that the Lakers should consider trading Davis for the betterment of both parties. Pierce went on to propose a potential solution, suggesting that Davis could thrive elsewhere.

“Give him an opportunity to go somewhere and play for a title because it’s not happening in LA.”

“Let him connect Reese, you can trade DLo (D’Angelo Russell) too and get some draft picks. And just let them roll. Laker Nation ain’t going for that. AD is good, so do him a justice and give him an opportunity to go somewhere and play somewhere for a title because it’s not happening in LA. You know what I’m saying, trade him to Miami,” Pierce said.
Anthony Davis Points To Turnovers As Key Issue In Lakers’ Defeat Against Minnesota
The Los Angeles Lakers lost 97-87 to the Minnesota Timberwolves in their latest game, playing without LeBron James. Although James’s absence was felt, Anthony Davis said turnovers were the key reason for the defeat.
“I think we did enough defensively, just didn’t do enough offensively. Turnovers played a big factor. They’re a team who wants to pressure and create turnovers, and we had 11 in the first quarter. We were able to combat that and give ourselves a chance to win, cutting it to six and five. But overall, it’s tough to win a basketball game when you have 22 turnovers,” Davis said.

The Lakers’ 21 turnovers disrupted their offensive flow despite a solid defensive effort. Davis led the team with a strong performance, finishing with 23 points and 11 rebounds. The Lakers will face the Memphis Grizzlies on Sunday.
