The former Celtics star Paul Pierce has issued some statements that draw attention to the GOAT debate of the NBA. For a long time, LeBron James and Michael Jordan have been the top 2 contenders for the title.
Now Pierce has given a condition that if fulfilled would cement King James as the undisputed GOAT of the NBA. On the other hand, Pierce also recently called himself a better clutch player than the Lakers star.
Paul Pierce describes how LeBron James could solidify his GOAT status
In a recent of Undisputed with Skip Bayless, NBA Icon Paul Pierce described a way LeBron James can solidify himself as the GOAT of the sport. James has already broken several records and most recently became the first player to reach the 40,000 career point mark. Pierce was appreciative of James doing all this and that too at the age of 39. He accepted him as the King on the show and praised the Lakers star.

“This will be his greatest feat… He is gonna have two of the greatest feats ever accomplished in NBA history. Coming back from a 3-1 deficit in the Finals which has never been done and also a team below the sixth seed winning the championship. If that doesn’t tell you Goat of all Goats then I don’t know what does,” said Pierce. He explained that if the Lakers can win the Championship this season, he will solidify himself as the greatest of all time to ever play the game.
Paul claims he outplayed LeBron in the clutch
While on one side Paul Pierce dished out praises to the future Hall of Famer on the other he called himself a better player. On the Fox Sports show, “All Facts No Brakes” the host asked Pierce a question. It was during a segment called Facts or Fiction in which the host generally busts myths with his guests. Pierce was asked if he was a better player than King James in crunch time and he had a one-word answer for it.

“Facts,” replied Pierce. He accepted that he was a better layer than Lebron James in crunch time when it mattered the most. Pierce’s take is understandable as well is one of the best clutch players to ever play the game. In crunch time Pierce has shown his potential by taking the responsibility to secure a win for his team. On the other side, LeBron has [asses a lot and waits for optimal plays rather than pushing ahead.
