Paul George, who was drafted 10th overall by the Indiana Pacers in the 2010 NBA draft, has just completed his 14th NBA season. The 34-year-old became a free agent after choosing not to exercise his player option in his $48.7 million deal with the Los Angeles Clippers for the 2024–25 season, marking the end of his successful five-year tenure with the team.
The nine-time NBA All-Star attracted significant attention from several teams during the offseason and reportedly engaged in negotiations with multiple teams. However, on July 6, 2024, George, who recently revealed the most unexpected thing he bought online, ultimately signed a contract with the Philadelphia 76ers. The star shooting guard’s prayers were definitely answered through divine intervention, as he recently shared a hilarious childhood story.
During a recent episode of the “Podcast P with Paul George” show, the host, George, shared a funny childhood story about secretly buying holy water to achieve his NBA dreams.
“I don’t think moms or pops know that story of me ordering holy water…I was probably 15-16 years old. and saw an infomercial about holy water.” George said on a recent episode of his podcast.
The former Clippers star mentioned that he ordered some free samples of holy water and sprinkled the water on himself.

George mentioned that he dreamed of becoming the best basketball player during childhood, so he purchased the holy water. However, His childhood aspiration paid off as he achieved several milestones in his professional career.

“I remember I prayed and sprinkled the holy water on me. I just want to be an NBA player, like I wanna be the best basketball player I can be.” George added.
George put on several notable performances in the recent NBA season, including a season-high 41 points against the Charlotte Hornets in April. Despite the nine-time NBA All-Star’s remarkable efforts, the Clippers lost to the Dallas Mavericks in the first-round series of the playoffs. However, the next season will be exciting for George as he will join Joel Embiid and Co. at the 76ers to challenge for the championship.
