After spending five seasons with the Los Angeles Clippers, Paul George made a significant career move by signing with the Philadelphia 76ers before the 2024 season. Interestingly, George’s arrival in Philadelphia marked a reunion with Andre Drummond and Reggie Jackson, two players who were once key figures for the Detroit Pistons.
While teaming up with Drummond and Jackson may not carry the same weight this season, it sparks memories of what could have been during their prime years. On his “Podcast P with Paul George,” the 9x NBA All-Star shared how close he came to joining the Pistons when both Drummond and Jackson were in Detroit.
“I actually was thinking about just because obviously, Reg reached out, Drummond reached out, and I’m like, ‘That might be a solid three stars right there,’” George said.

Bill Simmons Calls Out Paul George’s Comments Amid 76ers’ Struggles
Paul George has been vocal about his frustrations with his role on the court when Philadelphia 76ers star Joel Embiid is unavailable. However, his comments have not been well received by everyone, including sports analyst Bill Simmons. Simmons shared his thoughts on George’s remarks during a recent episode of his podcast.
“I didn’t like that he complained about playing the five when Embiid’s out. That he said, ‘This is just not that fun for me.’ Um, you’re trying to win games. You’re 15-24. Maybe do whatever it can take to make the team better?” Simmons said.
