It looks like the 2019-2020 season was truly championship or bust for the Clippers as the team next year could have a very different look.
Much has been made about Paul George’s disappointing run in the playoffs for the Los Angeles Clippers. He has been blasted online for his performance and it looks like the disrespect extends to his teammates as well.
According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, George’s Clippers teammates did not take too well to his rally cry after the team squandered away a 3-1 series lead to the Denver Nuggets:
“In the postgame locker room Tuesday night, George was preaching to teammates to remain committed, for all the players to return to the team this offseason and stay ready to make another run. It was met by some eye rolls and bewilderment, sources said, because George did not back up his words with action in the series and the team has multiple free agents with decisions to make. George scored 10 points on 4 of 16 shooting and 2 of 11 from 3-point range in the Game 7 defeat.”
Charania also reported that George had multiple verbal spats with his teammates throughout the playoffs, one of which was with Montrezl Harrell.
Montrezl Harrell and Marcus Morris Sr, are two of the biggest free agents that could quite possibly take their talents elsewhere in the offseason.
