Paul George’s debut season with the Philadelphia 76ers hasn’t gone as planned. After a five-year tenure with the Los Angeles Clippers, George made a surprising move to Philadelphia this season, reportedly influenced by financial advice from rapper Lil Dicky.
However, the 76ers have struggled with injuries to key players, including Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey. George himself has been sidelined for several games due to injury, limiting him to just eight appearances so far. This has left the team floundering, currently sitting in 14th place in the Eastern Conference with a disappointing 3-13 record.
Despite these setbacks, George remains optimistic about the team’s future. In a recent interview with Sixers Wire, he shared the importance of effort and energy in turning things around.
“Just our effort and energy. I think that’s one thing that we can control. Obviously, with big fella out, myself, Tyrese, just joining back, getting his rhythm. I mean, obviously, we’re a little limited, but I think what we can control is just our effort, our energy, and just doing things a little harder, but we’ll change this,” George said.
“We’ll change this around. I’m 100% betting down on that that we’ll change this. It’s on us. We got to control what we can,” he added.
Paul George Optimistic About Returning In The Next Week
Paul George has been sidelined since suffering a hyperextended left knee during a game against the Memphis Grizzlies. Despite the setback, George is staying positive about his recovery. In a recent interview, he shared his hopeful timeline for returning to action.

“Hopefully, within the next week. That’s kind of been the mindset that I’ve had. Obviously, we haven’t quite cleared it, but that’s the mindset that I’m targeting. The way the knee’s been filling and the workouts have been going. Hopefully, within a week, I’ll be ready to go,” George said.
Before injury, George was averaging 14.9 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 4.8 assists. He will miss the 76ers upcoming game against the Houston Rockets on Wednesday.
