Los Angeles Clippers star Paul George appears to have suffered a nasty knee injury during a game against the Oklahoma City Thunder at the Crypto.com Arena on Tuesday night.
The eight-time All-Star’s playoff status is now in doubt after he made an awkward landing while grabbing a rebound in the fourth quarter of the contest. George’s right knee hyperextended on the landing as he bumped into Luguentz Dort on the way down and he slumped to the floor in obvious pain before the trainers came to his aid.
He was attended to for several minutes and was not able to leave the floor without help or put any weight on the leg. You could check it out in the video below but do proceed with caution.
George was seen leaving the arena in a cart but Clippers head coach Tyronn Lue couldn’t offer much in the way of an update.
The Clippers would end up losing the game with George out, but they will hope to have him back as quickly as possible as there are multiple Western Conference teams still fighting for playoff spots.
The forward has been unfortunate to suffer severe injuries over the course of his career. He suffered a broken leg in a most disturbing manner while playing for Team USA back in 2014 and has now sustained an injury on that same leg.
