Indianapolis police are investigating an incident between Patrick Beverley and a Pacers fan during Game 6 of the Bucks-Pacers series, according to reports by NBA insider and analyst for ‘The Athletic’ Shams Charania.
“Indianapolis Police is investigating the incident between Patrick Beverley and a fan during Game 6 of Bucks-Pacers series; detectives confirm to me and Mike Vorkunov they are working with Gainbridge Fieldhouse to review video footage and plan to speak with the parties involved.” Shams Charania wrote on X (formerly Twitter).
During the game, a frustrated Beverley threw the ball in the stands, striking a woman sitting near the court in the head. A fan sitting near the woman then threw the ball back to the Bucks point guard before Beverley threw it into the stands again.
“The report has been forwarded to IMPD detectives, who are investigating this situation and taking all accusations seriously. “Detectives are working with Gainbridge Fieldhouse to review video footage and plan to speak with the parties involved”, the IMPD said in a statement.
Beverley apologised after the incident
Patrick Beverley later apologised and admitted what he did was “bad”.

“It was an unfortunate situation that should have never happened; what I did was bad and should have never happened. I have to be better, and I will be better. That should have never happened. Regardless of what was said, that should have never happened. Simple as that,” Beverley said on his podcast.
