The Minnesota Timberwolves reached the Eastern Conference Finals but faced a setback against the Dallas Mavericks, with Karl-Anthony Towns notably struggling throughout the series. The future of Towns with the Timberwolves now relies on whether control of the franchise remains with Glen Taylor or shifts to the Marc Lore/Alex Rodriguez group.
Brian Windhorst suggests that a change in ownership could lead to a re-evaluation of Towns’ role within the team.
“I do not think they would tear the team apart, however, I do think there’s a possibility if the ownership change took place that Karl Towns’ role would be reevaluated,” he said in “The Hoop Collective”.
The Minnesota team is amidst a bitter struggle between current owner Glen Taylor and potential future owners Marc Lore and Alex Rodriguez.
The two parties engaged in disputes over final payments from the years-old sale and the perceived lack of investment in the team’s players by the incoming ownership group.
