After the Game 6 win against the Oklahoma City Thunder, Dallas Mavericks head coach Jason Kidd praised Luka Doncic and highlighted his importance for the upcoming Western Conference finals.
“It’s incredible that he’s [Luka] been there two out of the [last] three years… he’s one of the best players in the world… he’s got a team that he believes in.” Jason Kidd said
Kidd also made some comments about the opposing team. He mentioned that OKC was a tough competitor, and they faced many challenges playing against them.
“Oklahoma City is an incredible team from top to bottom. Great coach and a great player. It was not an easy series. But for us, it was a really good series in the sense of staying together. I thought the trust was tested throughout this series – all six games.” Kidd added.

Additionally, Kidd said that PJ Washington was the most influential player in the game, and that’s why they won game six, unlike Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving.

“In tonight’s game, it wasn’t Luka [Dončić] or Kai [Kyrie Irving] making the game-winner; it was the trust that Luka had for P.J. [Washington]. P.J. made his free throws, and we found a way to win. However, the coaching staff did an incredible job of getting these guys ready to play, and the players trusted and executed the game plan. And we found a way to win the series.” Kidd mentioned.
The Dallas Mavericks dominated OKC in the conference semifinals, winning in game 6 to advance to the Western Conference Finals. Dallas overcame a 17-point deficit to beat Oklahoma City 117-116.
