LeBron James is universally recognized, but he isn’t universally liked. And, given he’s near twice the age of many players in the NBA, some of them absolutely despised him while growing up.
It turns out his teammate Austin Reaves used to be one of them.
LeBron is pretty fond of Reaves and hyped him up on Twitter after he put up 35 points in a scorching performance in a win over the Orlando Magic on Sunday. But he must have been amused to find out the 24-year-old used to be one of his social media detractors when he was a kid.
Someone has found some old posts from a very young Reaves dissing King James back in the day. In one of them, he shares a meme about LBJ having no rings. Another post from when LeBron actually had rings shows a meme about the four-time MVP teaming up with other stars so he could win.
He also criticized LeBron for getting shown up by Dirk Nowitzki in the 2011 NBA Finals.

Reaves acknowledged the praise from his teammate after Sunday’s win while fessing up to the posts.
Reaves has fallen victim to internet sleuthing in a similar manner to Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant, who had his old Instagram account dug up by social media detectives in the wake of his suspension for going on IG Live while toting a handgun.
