This victory not only earned Oklahoma City a spot in the championship game but also boosted their record to 20-5, placing them atop the Western Conference standings. Despite the loss, the Rockets maintained a 17-9 record, holding the third spot in the West.
The Thunder had previously punched their ticket to the semifinals with a 118-104 win over the Dallas Mavericks. Meanwhile, the Rockets reached this stage with a narrow 91-90 victory against the Golden State Warriors.
Rockets’ Balanced Effort Falls Short As Shai Gilgeous-Alexander Leads Charge For The Oklahoma City Thunder
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander was the standout performer for the Thunder, finishing the game with 32 points, eight rebounds, six assists, and five steals. Although he struggled in the first half, shooting just 25% from the field and going 0-for-4 from beyond the arc, Shai turned things around in the second half, leading his team to victory.

The Thunder also saw contributions from Isaiah Hartenstein, who scored 21 points and had eight rebounds. Jalen Williams scored 20 points, five rebounds, and five assists, while Luguentz Dort added 19 points and nine rebounds in the win.
Despite the loss, the Rockets had six players score in double digits. Jabari Smith Jr. and Dillon Brooks each tallied 14 points, while Alperen Sengun recorded a solid double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds.

Amen Thompson was a bright spot, adding 19 points and seven rebounds. Jalen Green and Tari Eason both added 12 points, while Fred VanVleet contributed eight points, nine rebounds, and seven assists. The Thunder will face the Milwaukee Bucks on Tuesday at 8:30 PM ET.
