This victory improved the Thunder’s season record to 19-5, keeping them firmly atop the Western Conference standings. Meanwhile, the Mavericks fell to 16-9, dropping to fourth place in the West.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander delivered a stellar performance on Tuesday. The Thunder star led the charge with 39 points, 8 rebounds, five assists, and five three-pointers while shooting an efficient 15-of-23 from the field.

Shai’s dominance against Dallas is no surprise. He has been consistently excellent in his last eight games against the Mavericks, averaging 33.5 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 7.1 assists with a 63.9% true shooting percentage.
Jalen Williams contributed 18 points and 7 rebounds, while Luguentz Dort and Cason Wallace chipped in with 11 points each. Isaiah Hartenstein added 10 points, with Kenrich Williams and Isaiah Joe both scoring 9 points off the bench.
Despite solid contributions from several players, the Mavericks couldn’t keep pace with the Thunder’s offensive firepower. Luka Doncic recorded 16 points, 11 rebounds, and five assists but struggled with his efficiency. Kyrie Irving added 17 points and five assists, while Naji Marshall and Klay Thompson each scored 19 points.

The Thunder’s remarkable season is drawing comparisons to the legendary 1996 Chicago Bulls. The Bulls are the only team in NBA history with a higher net rating than this year’s Thunder. The Thunder take on the Orlando Magic on December 10, while the Mavs face the Los Angeles Clippers on the same day.
