When Dejounte Murray joined the Atlanta Hawks in the summer of 2022, the franchise fans were very excited to see him and Trae Young bolster their way to the top of the Eastern Conference rankings. However, nothing close to the expected result has been observed in Murray’s and Young’s partnership.
In theory, Dejounte Murray and Trae Young form a formidable duo that would be hard to defend against. They were expected to be a lethal threat on the court and hard to shut down, but recent stat readings by StatMuse have revealed quite a different result.
According to StatMuse, the win percentage of the Atlanta Hawks with only Dejounte Murray is .500. On the other hand, the franchise’s win percentage with only Trae Young is also .500. However, when both Murray and Trae are playing, the win percentage drops down to a mere .417. The stats don’t lie; they indicate a problem with pairing two of the league’s hottest stars.
The Hawks did not have a great season and are now struggling to make it to the Play-In Tournament. With Young’s return from injury, they will probably make it to the tournament, but it will be a hard road to the Playoffs from there. There is some unknown problem with the pairing of Murray and Young, and if the Hawks don’t figure it out quickly, this season may be the last when we see those two play together.
Trae Young reveals his relationship with Dejounte Murray

The duo has struggled to find success on the court, but it hasn’t affected their relationship outside the basketball court. Trae Young recently spoke on his relationship with Dejounte Murray on his podcast.
