In game 4 of the semifinals of the NBA Playoffs, the New York Knicks suffered a disappointing 89-121 loss against the Indiana Pacers. In the post-game interview, Knicks coach Tom Thibodeau expressed his disappointment and frustration with the team’s performance, highlighting the mistakes made by the players. He also stated that the absence of OG Anunoby, who was out due to a left hamstring strain, cannot be used as an excuse for the team’s poor play.
“It’s not just OG [Anunoby]. [He] was out for a good chunk of the season, so that’s no excuse. Just get it done.” Knicks coach Tom Thibodeau on the loss against the Pacers in Game 4.
Jalen Brunson Disappoints in Knick’s Loss
During the game against the Pacers, Jalen Brunson didn’t perform well, scoring only 18 points on 6-for-17 shooting. He struggled to find his way against the Pacers’ strong defense. The Knicks also seemed outworked and exhausted. This was Jalen Brunson’s lowest-scoring game in the 2024 postseason. With just two minutes remaining in the third quarter, coach Tom Thibodeau pulled every player on the Knicks’ roster, ending Jalen Brunson’s tough day.
Josh Hart, who had played nearly every minute of the series’ first three games, only scored two points before taking an early rest. During the playoffs, Thibodeau usually prefers to play his starters for the entire match, alternating them frequently. However, with Anunoby out and Julius Randle, Mitchell Robinson, and Bojan Bogdanovic injured, the Knicks’ options have become limited.
Game 5 of the Round 2 series in the NBA 2023-24 playoffs between the New York Knicks and the Indiana Pacers will take place at Madison Square Garden on Wednesday.
