In a recent interview with HoopsHype on behalf of Adidas Eurocamp, Jokic was asked about his pick for the greatest of all-time players. In response, Jokic didn’t take long to say that his father would always be the GOAT for him.
Jokic also included Michael Jordan and Russell Westbrook in the list and mentioned that he always looked up to Westbrook while growing up. He also asserted that he likes Westbrook’s strategy of playing every game as if it were the last game of his career, and he loves this mindset.
“Who’s my GOAT? It has to be my dad. He’s my GOAT. He’s someone who just always helped me grow in every single way possible, and he’s someone I look I look up to all the time. Talking basketball, probably Michael Jordan. MJ and the guy I always looked at when I was growing up gotta be Russell Westbrook. He was the one who was playing every single game like it was his last one, and that’s something I always loved.” Jokic said.
Nikola Jokic Dominates and Wins the MVP Award
Nikola Jokic, the star player of the Denver Nuggets, delivered back-to-back dominant performances throughout the season. Thanks to his outstanding skills, the Serbian professional basketball player secured the Most Valuable Player award for the third time. Yet, his dominance was not enough when the team faced the Minnesota Timberwolves in the second round of the playoffs. The Nuggets’ hopes of winning the championship this season were shattered.
In Game 7 against the Timberwolves, Jokic and Minnesota’s star player Anthony Edwards got into a heated argument. During the fourth quarter, as the Minnesota team took the lead, Edwards was seen waving at the Ball Arena crowd.
