Nikola Jokic doesn’t seem like he could care less about being an NBA champion.
The Serbian star completed his cabinet on Monday night, adding an NBA title and an NBA Finals MVP trophy to his two MVP Awards after leading the Denver Nuggets to a closeout victory over the Miami Heat.
Jokic became the first player in league history to lead the playoffs in total points, assists, and rebounds. So you’d think he’d be the most excited person in Denver, yet he doesn’t appear to care and just wants to go back to Serbia so he could watch horses.
Speaking to ESPN’s Lisa Salters after Monday’s win, the 28-year-old was asked how it feels to be a champion.
“It’s good, it’s good. The job is done now,” he replied. “We can go home now.”

He was very disappointed to find out that he couldn’t leave just yet and had to wait for the city’s parade on Thursday.
“When is the parade? Thursday? No, I need to go home,” he lamented while speaking to reporters during the postgame presser.
Further proof of his indifference was on display during the locker room celebrations, where he was seen popping champagne just because he felt like he had to. A photo of him drinking a beer by himself has also become a meme.
Jokic seems content just to be able to play basketball at the highest level. Trophies don’t really mean anything to him at this point. Heat fans will feel like he should have just let them win the title instead.
