The NCAA said it was “actively working” to enhance existing resources for teams at the women’s basketball tournament in San Antonio after several social media posts showed an insane difference of what the men had compared to how little the women had.
ESPN Instagram page reposted Oregon Ducks star forward Sedona Prince’s video.
While the men’s weight room featured every piece of equipment imaginable, the women’s weight room consisted of merely six pairs of dumbbells and a stack of yoga mats.
Former NBA player Nick Young has one of the top comments on the page as he decided to be very insensitive about it with his comments.
“Man y’all not bringing in the big bucks y’all the JV team and it’s cool,” Young wrote.

Social media was not happy about his comment:
In less than 24 hours, Lynn Holzman, the NCAA Vice President of Women’s Basketball, responded to the controversy on Twitter.
“We acknowledge that some of the amenities teams would typically have access to have not been as available inside the controlled environment. In part, this is due to the limited space and the original plan was to expand the workout area once additional space was available later in the tournament,” she said.
“However, we want to be responsive to the needs of our participating teams, and we are actively working to enhance existing resources at practice courts, including additional weight training equipment.”
