The New York Knicks had a strong last season, making it to the Eastern Conference Semifinals. However, their NBA title dreams were cut short, partly due to the absence of their star player, Julius Randle. He dislocated his shoulder, which sidelined Randle during the playoffs. His injury left the team to rely heavily on their star point guard, Jalen Brunson.
Fans have been eagerly awaiting news about Randle’s recovery, especially with the new season approaching. When recently asked about the status of his shoulder, his response was less than reassuring.
“Good, and we’ll see,” he said.
Randle’s shoulder injury occurred in January of the previous season. After being diagnosed with dislocated shoulder, he was ruled out for the rest of the season and underwent surgery. His recovery was expected to take five months, during which he was unable to participate in any offseason activities.
Julius Randle Poised for Big Paycheck as Knicks Look to Retain Star Talent
Julius Randle is in line for a major contract this year, with the possibility of signing a four-year deal worth $181.5 million. Additionally, he has a player option for the 2025–26 season valued at $30.9 million.
This potential deal reflects his status as a key player for the New York Knicks, who are keen on keeping their star roster intact. Randle’s teammate, Jalen Brunson, recently signed a four-year, $156.5 million contract with the Knicks.

Randle’s eye-catching performance over the past four seasons, including three All-Star selections, makes him a strong candidate for a significant pay raise. Despite missing part of last season due to injury, Randle still averaged 24 points, 9.2 rebounds, and 5 assists in just 46 games. Throughout his tenure with the Knicks, he’s maintained averages of 22.6 points and 9.9 rebounds per game.
