An NBA player was charged Thursday with driving while impaired.
New Orleans Pelicans point guard Devonte’ Graham was charged with DWI near the intersection of Peace Street and Capitol Boulevard early Thursday morning.
Graham is entering his fifth year in the NBA, averaging 12.8 points a game.
The former Kansas Jayhawks star and 2018 Big 12 Player of the Year is approaching his second year with the Pelicans. Graham joined the Pelicans last year via a sign-and-trade agreement with the Charlotte Hornets.
He ended up signing off on a four-year, $47 million agreement, and as it stands, he is owed $36.3 million for the remaining three seasons of his contract, although the final year on his deal is not fully guaranteed.
