Netflix is branching out into the NBA following its success with the ‘Quarterback’ series from last year.
Per The Athletic’s Shams Charania, the platform is set to release a show similar to the aforementioned featuring five NBA players, namely LeBron James of the Los Angeles Lakers, Jimmy Butler of the Miami Heat, Jayson Tatum of the Boston Celtics, Anthony Edwards of the Minnesota Timberwolves, and Domantas Sabonis of the Sacramento Kings.
The name of the series is still unknown, but sources can report that James will be involved in the production, with his SpringHill Company active, while former U.S. President Barack Obama’s Higher Ground and Peyton Manning’s Omaha Productions are also working on the show.
No release date has been disclosed.
Omaha Productions was a producer for the first season of ‘Quarterback’, with NFL Films and 2PM Productions also producing.
‘Quarterback’, which dropped last summer to a great reception, put the likes of Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes, Minnesota Vikings QB Kirk Cousins, and former Atlanta Falcons QB Marcus Mariota on show.
