This year, Team USA boasts an impressive lineup featuring a dozen NBA legends. Notably, six of these stars are aged 30 or older. Joel Embiid, a key player who is 30 years old, recently suggested that Team USA’s stars are getting old.
However, Embiid’s claim did not sit well with veteran Kevin Durant. Team USA’s all-time scorer responded to Joel’s remarks.
“Of course, we’re older and we all have mileage on our bodies. But we figure out ways to be effective, just as (Embiid) has as he’s gone through injuries. “The thing about greatness is that you adjust and continue to find ways to be effective,” Durant said during a press conference on Thursday.
Durant then went on to mention LeBron James’ endurance on the court. Recently, Jeff Teague also shared James’ stamina on the court, sharing a story about James playing through a serious ankle injury.
“That’s what LeBron has done. He’s not running and jumping the same way he was when he was 25, 26 years old, but he’s still jumping pretty high and running pretty fast,” Durant added.

During a Team USA press conference, the Phoneix Suns star faced questions on whether they had talked about the Celtics’ NBA title.
“Not at all. We got champs on the team, they just the most recent,” he said.
For Durant, an NBA title is an achievement he already has added to his resume. He won back-to-back NBA titles during his time with the Golden State Warriors. His eyes are now on the Paris Olympics, in which he will be eyeing another gold medal.
