The Toronto Raptors are currently playing the Charlotte Hornets, but one player on the opposing team is not playing in this Monday night game.
Hornets star Miles Bridges is not available to play because he is not allowed to.
ESPN NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski reported that the country of Canada has denied entry to the country for Bridges due to a felony charge he had.
“Canada’s decision to deny Hornets F Miles Bridges entry into country is unlikely to be reversed in time for him to arrive for tonight’s game vs. Raptors. Bridges – who plead no contest to felony charge of injuring a child’s parent – was denied border access Sunday,” Wojnarowski reported.
The team’s attempts to reverse the decision were unsuccessful, and Bridges was officially ruled out shortly before tip-off.
In 2022, Bridges was charged with multiple felony counts of domestic violence, and later pled no contest to the felony charge of injuring a child’s parent. The other two charges were dropped.
