The holidays came and went in a hurry. Much action around the NBA happened in the last couple of weeks since our last rankings. It’s still early in 2025, but the injuries have continued to pile up around the league.
As a result, many of the top teams have struggled without their stars, thus losing their spots in week 11. What’s baffling is that some of the healthier teams have not capitalized on the struggles of others. This season’s truly full of surprises, whether good or bad.
Let’s take a quick look at the rankings for all 30 NBA teams after week 11.
Who are the top-ranking NBA teams after week 11 of games?
30. Charlotte Hornets (25)
LaMelo Ball may be getting a lot of all-star votes this season, but the Hornets are far from respectable when it comes to their success on the court. They now have lost 10 straight games and haven’t won a game since the second week of December.
29. New Orleans Pelicans (29)
Even though the Pelicans have won two straight games, their season is fairly lost. With a 7-29 record, not even the presence of Zion Williamson will do them good for the remainder of the season – if he ever plays again this year. Might as well tank all the way or trade all the remaining assets and enter a full rebuild.

28. Washington Wizards (30)
The Wizards ended 2024 fairly respectably. They weren’t blown out heavily by other teams, which is a surprise considering that they have been at the bottom of the Eastern Conference standings for most of this season. One positive note is that Jordan Poole is beginning to play well for them this season after an atrocious showing last year.
27. Toronto Raptors (26)
The Raptors only went 1-9 in their last 10 games. One of those losses came from the Celtics, who manhandled them by 54 points to start the year. They also lost to an injury-riddled Orlando Magic team despite having Immanuel Quickley back in the lineup. Should they opt to tank and aim for a chance on Cooper Flagg or Dylan Harper in the 2025 draft?
26. Utah Jazz (28)
Utah is on a two-game winning streak right now, having beat the Heat by 36 points and pulled away from a one-legged Orlando Magic squad to end week 11. But at 9-25, it is safe to say that this team won’t sniff the playoffs this year, even with a healthy lineup.
25. Brooklyn Nets (22)
With vital cogs like Dennis Schroder and Dorian Finney-Smith gone, it’s not entirely surprising that the Nets are entering a full-scale rebuilding phase. With a 13-22 record, they are actively shopping Cameron Johnson and Ben Simmons before the trade deadline. However, they shouldn’t expect a hefty return for Simmons. He’s been incredibly awful this season.

24. Portland Trail Blazers (27)
The Blazers ended 2024 on a positive note by posting back-to-back wins against the Jazz and the Mavericks. Their start in 2025 wasn’t bad either, as they’ve managed to topple the suddenly struggling Bucks via an Anfernee Simons game-winner.
23. Phoenix Suns (12)
Arguably the biggest losers in this week’s NBA rankings, the Suns are on a freefall right now. Losers of four straight, this team can’t seem to find a winning formula for the past couple of weeks. Their last win was their Christmas matchup against Nikola Jokic and the Nuggets. Yes, that was a couple of weeks ago.
22. Chicago Bulls (21)
Surprisingly, the Bulls outlasted the Knicks in a high-scoring affair to end week 11 on a positive note. However, despite the result, they are actively shopping Nikola Vucevic and Lonzo Ball to other teams before the trade deadline ends in February. This team’s ceiling is the play-in tournament at best.
21. Philadelphia 76ers (24)
With Joel Embiid back in the lineup at almost full strength, the Sixers are slowly but surely turning their season around. They went 7-3 in their last 10, and things have started to click in regards to Paul George, their prized offseason addition. While George’s scoring isn’t up to his usual standards, he’s been decent enough to be their third option in the scoring department in Philly.
20. Detroit Pistons (23)
Right before the end of 2024, the Pistons surpassed their total wins last season—a huge accomplishment considering how awful their 2023-2024 campaign was. Despite losing Jaden Ivey to an injury, they are now riding a three-game winning streak. If they can keep up this pace, then a top 15 place in the NBA rankings will soon be a realistic goal for them.
19. Minnesota Timberwolves (13)
It’s time to acknowledge that this season’s version of the Wolves is way inferior compared to what they accomplished in 2024. It’s alarming that Anthony Edwards is complaining about all the double-team coverages he gets on a night basis. Even a 53-point effort from him was not enough to beat the Pistons. At 4-6 in their last 10 games, they better figure things out sooner rather than later in order to compete in the ultra-packed West.
18. Sacramento Kings (17)
With Coach Brown’s sudden firing, the Kings are thriving under interim coach Doug Christie, a former Kings player from the 2000s era. There are rumors that the Kings might shop De’Aaron Fox at the trade deadline. It’s hard to imagine a quality return for them if that happens.
16. Atlanta Hawks (15)
The start of the new year hasn’t been kind to the Hawks. They haven’t yet won a game since the turn of the calendar year and now have lost three straight games. As a result, they are slowly heading in the wrong direction in this week’s NBA rankings. To be fair, this team has performed above expectations after the departure of Dejounte Murray in the offseason.
15. San Antonio Spurs (19)
The Spurs aren’t striking fear to anybody, but they aren’t an easy outing for NBA teams, either. Victor Wembanyama has held his own after back-to-back battles against Nikola Jokic to start the year. They may or may not make the play-in, but this team is entertaining to watch.
14. Indiana Pacers (20)
After seemingly playing half-asleep to start the 2024-2025 season, the Pacers have finally woken up from their slump, going 7-3 in their last 10 games. As a result, they are now in the top 15 of the NBA weekly rankings and are in a better position to make a run at the top 10 a few weeks from now – if they can keep their momentum up.
13. Miami Heat (10)
With Jimmy Butler’s seven-game suspension and subsequent trade demand, the Heat are in shambles right now. NBA Teams are extremely wary of trading for Butler and absorbing his contract this season, in which he has a player option for a massive 52 million next year. Due to the distraction Butler has created, they lost to the lowly Jazz by 36 points and to the Pacers by double digits in week 11.
12. Milwaukee Bucks (9)
The Bucks are on a two-game skid right now and have struggled since winning the Emirates NBA Cup a month ago. They only went 5-5 in their last 10 games. One of those loss was against the cellar-dwelling Blazers. For a perceived contender like them, they have not shown that they could get the job done despite having a mostly healthy roster this season.
11. Dallas Mavericks (4)
No Luka Doncic, no wins. It’s as simple as that. Losers of four straight, you can expect that number to pile up as Kyrie Irving is now reportedly out for a few games due to his own injury woes. They brought in Klay Thompson to become their third option for scoring, but so far, his numbers have been all over the place. At this rate, the Mavericks will continue to sink in the NBA weekly rankings for the next few weeks.
10. Los Angeles Clippers (14)
Kawhi Leonard is back! He finally made his season debut against the Hawks after missing the first 34 games in this year’s campaign. While he was not as dynamic as per his standards, his presence alone was a huge boost for this Clippers organization. Kawhi’s still day-to-day, but let’s hope he stays healthy throughout the year.
9. Los Angeles Lakers (18)
Whatever Coach JJ Redick is doing right now, he should roll with it. The Lakers went 7-3 in their last 10 games and have moved to the 5th spot in the Western Conference standings. The jump from the 18th spot to the 9th spot in the weekly NBA rankings is no easy feat. LeBron James continues to keep father time at bay despite turning 40 years old a week ago.
8. Orlando Magic (8)
You have to tip your hat off to the Magic. Without Banchero, Wagner, and now Suggs, this young squad is still competitive on the court. Despite going 4-6 in their last 10 games, the will to succeed hasn’t left them. They have a great foundation going forward. Better days will come your way, Magic fans!
7. Denver Nuggets (11)
Nikola Jokic is having another MVP-caliber season. With Aaron Gordon out with an injury, Jokic mostly does all the heavy lifting to keep this team afloat in the brutal Western Conference. They went 6-4 in their last 10 games. After sleepwalking at the start of the season, Michael Porter Jr and Jamal Murray ended 2024 in a blast and provided Jokic with much-needed help on offense.
6. Memphis Grizzlies (5)
Despite going just 5-5 in their last 10 games, the Grizzlies now sit third in the West, with a record similar to that of the surging Houston Rockets. Desmond Bane is starting to find his grove after missing the start of the season due to an injury. Ja Morant isn’t as electric as in the past, but he gets the job done on the court due to his much-improved jump shot.
5. Houston Rockets (6)
Well, hello there, Rockets! With 6-4 in their last 10 games, Houston now sits second in the West, behind the impressive Oklahoma City Thunder squad. Jalen Green’s shot is sinking at a high rate right now, and his scoring outbursts bode well for a Rockets team.
4. New York Knicks (7)
While fans clamor that coach Thibodeau is running his starters to the ground again due to the heavy minutes he is playing them, this Knicks squad has played well regardless. They comfortably sit at the third spot in the Eastern Conference standings, just a couple of games behind the Celtics. Karl-Anthony Towns is having a career year in NY.
3. Boston Celtics (2)
In the battle of giants, the Celtics could not keep up with the young and emerging OKC squad in week 11. Boston still has the best starting five in the league, but teams like the Cavs, Thunder, and even the Knicks may have what it takes to get past this team in a seven-game series. The key word for the Celtics here? Don’t be complacent.
2. Cleveland Cavaliers (3)
The Cavs are on a 10-game winning streak right now. They sit at the top of the Eastern Conference standings, with 31-4. Yes. You read that right. They are 31-4 this season. The Cavs are among the most dominant teams in the league’s history through 35 games. It’s baffling to think that they don’t have a single candidate for league MVP despite having a hell of a season.
1. Oklahoma City Thunder (1)
Nothing’s really changed on OKC since I last wrote about them a couple of weeks ago in the weekly NBA rankings. They are undoubtedly the top team in the league right now. SGA and the rest of this squad are on a 15-game winning streak. All of this is without the services of Chet Holmgren, who remains out due to a hip injury.
Let’s hope this squad is a much better version of the Kevin Durant-led Thunder squad a decade ago. With the Thunder and Cavs at the 1 and 2 spots, it’s a huge victory for small-market teams across the association.
