NBA Legend Magic Johnson Issues A Challenge To Western Conference Teams Over THIS Playoff-Bound Franchise
The 79th NBA season began on October 22, and each team played at least one game, while the Boston Celtics, played two. Many franchises, including the Philadelphia 76ers and the New York Knicks, made blockbuster moves in the offseason to improve their rosters. However, five-time NBA champion Magic Johnson recently warned the Western Conference about a super team.
Many Eastern Conference sides acquired NBA superstars to boost their championship-winning chances, including the 76ers signing Paul George and the Knicks trading for Karl-Anthony Towns. In the West, the Denver Nuggets acquired Russell Westbrook, while DeMar DeRozan joined the Sacramento Kings.
One of the most shocking summer trades involves Klay Thompson joining the Dallas Mavericks after playing his entire career with the Golden State Warriors. The four-time champion formed a superteam at the Mavs with Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving. After the Mavs won their first game, Magic Johnson took to X and warned other teams to watch out for the Mavericks.
Johnson claimed Western Conference franchises “should be worried” about “playoff-built” Dallas. “Every team in the West should be worried about Dallas this season because the Mavs are built for the Playoffs,” he wrote.
