The 2024 NBA Draft is just over a month away, and the rumors surrounding Bronny James are getting heated up with each passing day. With his Draft combine showing, the son of LeBron James has certainly improved his chances of getting drafted if that wasn’t the case before. But what will happen if the father-son duo end up sharing the same locker room? Former NBA champion, Udonis Haslem recently provided the answer.
On a recent episode of NBA on ESPN, Haslem discussed the effects of LeBron having Bronny on the same team. “Being in the locker room with your dad, that’s a sticky situation because everything that somebody says, they gonna side eye and look at Bron. So, he wants to establish his own opportunity, his own legacy,” said the 3-time NBA Champion. (After 3:00)
The Lakers are reportedly eyeing drafting Bronny James to keep his legendary father around, who is yet to commit to the franchise’s future after an early postseason exit. It is no secret that LeBron holds a dream of playing alongside his son, but what does Bronny want? James Jr. recently revealed his wish regarding his NBA future.
Bronny Wants to Flourish Irrespective of LeBron James’ Presence
While LeBron James is keeping mum about his future, his recent visit to the Cavs game is keeping everyone guessing. Multiple teams are eyeing LeBron’s son as a surefire way to secure the 39-year-old’s service, but that’s apparently not on the priority list of Bronny.
After impressing at the Chicago combine, the 19-year-old touched on the subject of whether it is his dream to play alongside his dad and said, “No, never. My dream has always just been to put my name out, make a name for myself, and get to the NBA, which is everyone’s end goal that’s here. I never thought about just playing with my dad, but of course, he’s brought it up a couple of times. But yeah, I don’t think about it much.”

The USC guard took part in the NBA Draft combine and showed a glimpse of his natural skills in the shooting and endurance drills. Despite being only measured at 6’1″, Bronny showed off tremendous leaping ability with 40.5″ vertical. Even if he doesn’t get drafted this year, he can go back to the college basketball scene to raise his stock, but with time running out on the court for LeBron, a potential union next season can never be counted out as of now.
