Over the past week or so, the Los Angeles Lakers have thrown just about every package they could at the New Orleans Pelicans in order to acquire Anthony Davis, but nothing has progressed.
Everyday, it seemed a new package was revealed showing which players the Lakers were offering, which in turn most certainly was seen by the players on the team and would cause commotion.
That’s exactly what happened on Tuesday when the team came out to face the Indiana Pacers and received a 42-point beat-down as every player on the squad had their minds somewhere else.
That performance prompted ESPN’s Rachel Nichols to ask NBA insider Brian Windhorst whether the Pelicans were purposely releasing things to the media in an effort to sabotage the Lakers. Windhorst confirmed.
