The NBA trade deadline may have passed, but that doesn’t mean the trade rumors can’t continue to swirl.
According to a recent report from Fox Sports 1’s Chris Broussard, there’s potential brewing for Miami Heat president Pat Riley to pull of a blockbuster trade with another organization he’s very familiar with, the Los Angeles Lakers.
Broussard claims he spoke with someone inside the league who told him the Heat should have traded Bam Adebayo for Anthony Davis. Feeling that wasn’t quite enough, Broussard took things one step further by saying Miami should throw Jimmy Butler into that deal. He then went on to add, “We know Riley likes stars. He might do that.”
There’s no doubting the fact that Anthony Davis is a dominant force on the hardcourt, but the fact remains he’s had a hard time staying on it in recent years. His history of injuries make it hard to believe that Riley and the Heat would give up two all-star caliber players of their own for his services.
Heat fans seemed to agree, as they wasted little time hitting back at Broussard for his trade proposal.
