A few days ago, it was reported that the Lakers and Clippers voted to end the current NBA season during a players only meeting following league-wide boycotts on Wednesday, according to multiple reports. The remaining 14 teams — including the Bucks, who were the first team to sit out — voted to continue on.
Fast forward to Friday and we’re finding out just how serious that meeting was as the players met to discuss how they wanted to handle the rest of the season. There was so much tension in the room that LeBron James reportedly left out of frustration.
NBA insider Shams Charania revealed the frustration for James stemmed from the fact that Milwaukee decided not to play its playoff game without having a full plan in place.
Things didn’t change until the National Basketball Players Association mapped out its list of demands that James felt comfortable with resuming the rest of the playoffs.
Even though James is chasing his 4th NBA title, he was willing to give up that pursuit for something greater.
