It appears Tristan Thompson is getting undeservedly trolled on the back of Kyrie Irving’s trade request.
Shams Charania has reported that the point guard wants out of Brooklyn and told the Nets to trade him before the deadline on February 9 or he will leave as a free agent at the end of the season.
Things seemed to be great between Irving and the Nets since he returned from suspension but the eight-time All-Star apparently wants out.
Thompson made an appearance on ESPN’s This Just In after the news broke to suggest that the guard should join forces with LeBron James in L.A. He declared the move would get “the Lakers back to the promised land.”
Bleacher Report later tweeted a graphic showing LeBron with his arms around Kyrie and Thompson with the words “Time to get the gang back together.”
Fans on Twitter must have taken this to mean Thompson wants the three of them to play on the same team again after winning a title with the Cleveland Cavaliers. And who could blame them? That’s what it looks like without context.

It’s had the unintended result of getting Thompson trolled.
Poor guy…
Say what you will about Tristan Thompson, though. He played a huge role in the Cavs winning that title in 2016.
