Wherever Ja Morant goes, controversies follow and he is at it again. The Memphis Grizzlies guard recently took the social media by storm with his latest post. His recent Instagram story is not sitting with his internet fans.
Morant shared a photoshopped image of the civil rights icon Martin Luther King Jr. wearing dental grills. Soon after he posted it, and the day being MLK Day, many found it disrespectful. Fans took to social media to voice their disappointment over the posting and put out open criticism for the NBA star.
Despite the growing controversy surrounding his post, Morant has not publicly addressed the backlash. However, this isn’t the first time Morant has found himself in hot water for his actions off the court. Previously, he faced suspension from the NBA after incidents involving firearms on social media.

Apart from all the controversial incidents, the two-time All-Star is averaging 21.4 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 7.5 assists this season. Morant missed a recent game due to a foot injury, marking his 18th absence of the season. This puts him at risk of not meeting the league’s 65-game minimum requirement for end-of-season awards. And it could further impact his career trajectory. While the Grizzlies managed to win without him against the San Antonio Spurs, he must reevaluate his decisions on social media.
