The Memphis Grizzlies and Utah Jazz are on the court in the Summer League at the Delta Center in Salt Lake City. All eyes are on the Grizzlies’ ninth overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft, Zach Edey. Fans are eager to see if his draft position is justified, and Edey is determined to prove his worth.
During the play, the rookie star amazed the crowd with a huge block on Jazz guard Keyonte George, setting up teammate Scotty Pippen Jr. for a slam dunk on the other end.
The Grizzlies are well aware of what Edey’s 7-foot-10 wingspan can bring to the team. Given his early performances, it’s clear that the hype surrounding Edey is well-founded and building momentum. The two-time AP College Basketball Player of the Year is making waves in his debut game.
“Literally a wall,” a fan wrote in a comment after seeing Edey’s performance.
Edey was recognized as one of the premier collegiate players. Last season, he averaged 25.2 points, 12.2 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2.2 blocks across 39 games. With the Grizzlies, he is also maintaining this level of play.
“He can play!!!!! Look at him get back too!!!! Best player in college basketball for a reason. The kid is gonna be good,” another comment read.
